Alpine Status HDS-990 - Remote Control and Media Player
The Alpine HDS-990 Hi-Res Audio Media Player achieves 192kHz/24Bit playback via 3 wired USB DAC inputs or wireless Bluetooth® connection. This ensures that any high-resolution music files stored on a USB or smartphone will be reproduced at the intended spec. It is designed to work in parallel with your original radio (or existing aftermarket radio) and has therefore no radio or DAB+ tuner as well as no Bluetooth hands-free features or similar.
The Media Player includes a compact controller with buttons for basic music controls, a high-resolution color screen that displays playback data and album cover artwork, a volume knob for quick sound controls, and a separate black-box for flexible installation in the vehicle. High-Resolution 4x 50W amplifier output, high-performance RCA outputs and an optical TOSLINK & Coax ports allow for flexible system building with the HDP-D90 Digital Signal Processor (DSP) Amplifier.

Hide-Away Black-Box Design
The Media Player is designed with a hide-away black-box configuration. This makes it very easy to find a suitable space in your dash for the slim control panel, while installing the 1DIN sized black-box anywhere behind the dashboard or similar.
Source Input Options
You can chose from many source inputs: connect your original radio’s speaker lines to the 4-channel high-level inputs to enjoy all original audio sources of your vehicle. There is also a 2-channel RCA input, 3 USB ports (supporting up to 192kHz / 24bit) and of course Bluetooth Audio streaming (supporting up to 96kHz / 24bit).
Bluetooth Audio Streaming
Wireless Bluetooth connection to your smartphone or Bluetooth-enabled digital audio player is also possible, thanks to the built-in high-end LDAC and aptX HD standards. You can stream music up to 96kHz / 24bit quality. Additional supported Bluetooth Audio Codecs are SBC, AAC and aptX.
Wide Output Options
The HDS-990 features a wide range of outputs for maximum system-building flexibility. The 4-channel hi-power output (4x 50 Watts) can be used to directly drive your door speakers, while the 6-channel RCA output is designed to connect external amplifiers. There is also an optical TOSLINK as well as a coaxial output to connect the HDS-990 Media Player to a DSP such as the Alpine Status HDP-D90.
Works With Your Original Radio
The HDS-990 Media Player is designed to work in parallel with an original manufacturer’s radio or any aftermarket radio. While the original radio is used for radio and DAB+ reception, vehicle settings, CD playback, Bluetooth, etc., the HDS-990’s part is to play-back, stream and control Hi-Res Audio music files. Since the original radio is intended to be kept in the vehicle, we created the HDS-990’s control panel in a very compact format to be easily added anywhere in the dashboard or center console.
Stand-Alone System or DSP Amplifier Link
You can use the HDS-990 as stand-alone system by connecting it directly to the vehicle’s speakers (or using external amplifiers). To use the system’s full potential however we recommend to pair it with the HDP-D90 DSP amplifier. This DSP amplifier features a built-in 12-channel digital amplifier, 31-band Parametric EQ per channel and many other sound tuning features.

What is Our Return Policy?
Subject to the below exceptions,Studio Incar LTD is happy to exchange or refund your purchase within 30 days of delivery. Your refund will be credited to the original payment card on the day of request but may take up to 14 working days.
Unwanted goods must be returned in a fully re-saleable condition and any packaging must be intact. We reserve the right to refuse an exchange or full refund if goods are not returned in a re-saleable condition or are damaged. If these conditions are met we will gladly offer a replacement, exchange or refund.
Refunds on promotional goods purchased under a promotional offer will be based on the terms of the promotional price. Our 30 days returns policy is in addition to the standard 14 day returns offered by the Consumer Contact Regulations.
If for any reason you believe your product is defective please notify us immediately on 01489 578951 or via email. If your product is faulty or covered under warranty any carriage costs incurred shipping the goods back will be refunded up to the amount of £10.
Upon receipt of your order you are advised to carefully inspect the package and goods to ensure they are intact and complete, before signing for receipt of delivery. Should you find the parcel to be damaged or incomplete you must refuse delivery of the goods.
Please report any damaged or faulty items to Studio Incar within 24 hours of receipt of the goods and provide any information requested (eg photographs) within 24 hours.
If you have ordered the incorrect part or wish to return an order we will gladly exchange the product free of charge with just the carriage to pay.
How do I Return a Product?
Please follow the instructions below before returning any goods
We require all returned goods (defective, damaged, unwanted or otherwise) to be sent back to us in the original condition they were received in, with all accessories, manuals and the original packaging. Items that are being returned purely because they are no longer wanted should be returned in unopened packaging. Studio Incar retain the right to refuse a refund or charge an appropriate fee for items that are returned without original packaging and/or without accessories and manuals.
Collection Procedure
- In the event of a product failing, your first course of action should be to contact Studio Incar at info@studioincar.co.uk
- Within 6 months of purchase date: Once the fault has been established and deemed impossible to be solved on site, Studio Incar will arrange for collection of the item at cost to the customer. This will be refunded in full if the item is found to be faulty.
- Please note that if the item has a non-warrantable fault the customer will be charge for carriage both ways, parts and labour.

How do I Cancel an Order?
You may cancel your order (or any part of it) for any reason before dispatch, however, if your order has already been dispatched & is with the courier a restocking fee may apply.

The products we use and sell are of the highest quality and we trust them wholeheartedly, but every now and again a product has a fault that is covered under the manufacturers warranty.
