The 2mm thick, hand-painted iron case, elegant silkscreening, and tactile metal knobs exude a timeless quality, further enhanced by a 3.5-inch IPS screen. While designed for local hard drive playback, the PL1 boasts a comprehensive suite of modern features, including wireless remote control, mobile app control, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Expandability is ensured via a USB port, accommodating both flash drives and portable hard drives. A wide range of audio formats are supported, including WAV, APE, FLAC, AIFF, MP3, and DSD (DSD64), with resolutions up to 24bit/192kHz, guaranteeing seamless playback of high-quality digital music.

Spotless PL1 leverages the inherent reliability and flexibility of Linux, a proven platform renowned in the world of digital music players. Built on this robust foundation, the PL1's high-quality audio playback system not only provides basic music file playback but also offers extensive customization options for both hardware and software performance.

The user-friendly interface prioritizes simplicity and ease of use. Eliminating complex setup procedures, the lightweight design focuses on essential functionalities, allowing users to quickly access and enjoy their music. Simple controls provide a seamless and intuitive listening experience. Upon startup, the Spotless logo greets the user.

During playback, the screen displays pertinent information, including time progress, album art, track name, and album name. Playback options such as playlist loop, single-track loop, and sequential play are readily available. The interface is further enhanced by Spotless's signature warm and nostalgic color scheme, adding a touch of timeless elegance.

Uncompromising Quality and Pure Design

Spotless PL1 is a combined digital transport and DAC (digital-to-analog converter), utilising an XMOS chip as its sound card. For enhanced flexibility, it can also be connected to an external DAC via coaxial or optical cables, allowing the PL1 to function as a dedicated digital transport. Connectivity options include one coaxial output, one optical output, and one analog RCA output.

Spotless utilise premium, gold-plated RCA jacks from Taiwanese manufacturer Aec Connectors. These high-quality connectors, crafted with thick pure copper and precise construction, ensure reliable performance and contribute positively to the overall sound quality.

Local files for High-Fidelity Sound

Local digital audio files remain the optimal choice for achieving high-fidelity sound quality. The PL1 connects via USB to flash drives or external hard drives, supporting FAT32, exFAT, and NTFS file systems.

It offers direct playback from these devices, including support for CUE sheet track playback and folder browsing for efficient navigation of master-quality audio files. Supported formats encompass a wide range, including WAV, APE, FLAC, AIFF, MP3, and DSD (DSD64), with resolutions up to 24bit/192kHz. The PL1's integrated DAC ensures comprehensive, high-resolution digital audio playback.
